Events

Past

We’ve held a number of events to support the Memorial Scholarship Endowment over the past several years. These include a Memorial Art Show, sales event, yearly fundraising campaigns and FaceBook birthday fundraisers just to name a few. We have continued to offer designs Kitt loaded on Redbubble.com and added them to Teepublic.com.

We had the opportunity in attend an Endowment Luncheon at KCAI where we learned that Illustration is now the largest department on campus. Our scholarship is the only one specifically for illustration students. Unfortunately we are only able to help 3% of this group.

Present

We are working on getting autographs from cast members of the series Firefly on a Firefly/Futurama print Kitt created. Once complete this piece will be placed up for auction. To do this we have attended several comic conventions. We only have one autograph left to go.

While at Awesomecon in the DC area we ran into comic book artist David Mack who offered several autographed prints to the Foundation.

We were approached by Gini Holtzman, the voice actor of Peppermint Patty from the 80’s Charlie Brown cartoons at the Epic Toy Show in Phoenix, AZ

. She expressed an interest in helping the Foundation in any way she could.

We are also organizing another Memorial Art Show for the Spring of 2027.

Future

Our future plans include increasing the number of pieces offered on third-party sites like Redbubble and Teepublic as well as opening up an eCommerce section of this website to offer prints of her works along with buttons, cards and stickers. Through this we hope to keep her work out there and available for new lovers of whimsy.

Through increased fundraising efforts we hope to increase the number of scholarships we can offer each year and help more of these bright, creative young illustrators.

Please note, all profits brought in through our fundraising efforts go to the scholarship fund.
